Well, it wasn't long before I realized that everything about the bar was wrong…the size, the plumbing, the lighting, the height, and especially, the location…nestled in a corner between the garage door, laundry room and powder room. ???
Long story short, I ripped it out and held onto the beautiful tongue and groove wood planks that were used on the exterior base of the bar.
I was so excited to get to work on a project where I could use them, but the timing for the project was never right…until last week…
I dug out the planks from my reclaimed wood pile and got to work.
After cutting all of the planks to the same length, I painted each a different color, sanded and waxed them.
I knew I wanted to make a table top out of my reclaimed wood, so I grabbed the legs and apron of an old, broken table I had in my workshop. After a few hours of repair, painting, sanding and waxing, the base of the table was ready for a top.
I slid the planks together, glued and nailed them and attached the plank top to the table base. LOVE IT!!
